M31, the Andromeda Galaxy

Here's the closest large galaxy to our own, comparable in size to our  Milky Way. At a distance of about two and a half million light years, it is our neighbor and partner in keeping the smaller galaxies of our little Local Group in their place.

This was shot with my lovely little Astro-Physics Stowaway refractor, a 92mm instrument at f/6.7. ZWO ASI294MC Pro camera, a stack of 30 5-minute exposures..
